  11. Carbon emission (noun) – the release of carbon into the atmosphere.
  12. Consensus (noun) – an idea or opinion that is shared by all the people in a group.
  13. Stress (verb) – emphasize, draw attention to, focus attention on, underline, underscore, highlight.
  14. Combustion (noun) – burning.
  15. Account for (phrasal verb) – constitute, make up, comprise, form, represent.
  16. Boom (noun) – a period of rapid economic growth.
  17. Lead to (verb) – result in, cause, bring on.
  18. Implications (noun) – consequence/outcome, ramification, repercussion.
  19. Way of life (phrase) – culture, lifestyle.
  20. Summit (noun) – meeting, conference, conclave.
  21. Rather than (phrase) – instead of.
  22. Draw attention away (phrase) – to make someone not to notice something; underemphasize, make light of, downplay, understate, underplay.
  23. Anthropogenic (adjective) – referring to environmental change (like pollution) caused or influenced by people, either directly or indirectly.

  35. Move away from (phrasal verb) – change/alter one’s ideas/beliefs/views and so.
  36. Subsidiary (noun) – subordinate company.
  37. Ratchet up (phrasal verb) – to increase something by a series of small amounts.
  38. Redundant (adjective) – unnecessary, not required, inessential, unwanted.
  39. Crop (Noun) – a plant that is grown in large quantities.
  40. Viability (noun) – ability, practicality, feasibility (to work successfully).
  41. Sustainable (adjective) – reasonable, sensible, well-founded (without disturbing the balance of nature and then without exhausting all of the natural resources).
  42. Trade-off (noun) – a situation in which you must choose between (balance) two things that are opposite or cannot be had at the same time; a compromise; swap, exchange.
